CALANGUTE: Calangute Police have booked four persons, including two identified as Rueben Franco and Roy Franco, for allegedly abusing and threatening a tourism department official and his staff while they were on duty at Umtawado, Calangute, on Wednesday evening.
According to the complaint filed by Ashish Kambli, 30, a Taluka Level Supervisor with the Tourism Department, the incident occurred between 3.45 pm and 4 pm on November 5 at Survey Nos. 175/18 and 175/19 in Umtawado.
The accused persons, including two others — a man and a woman yet to be identified — allegedly obstructed the team, hurled abuses, and issued threats as they carried out their official inspection.
Calangute Police have registered an offence under Sections 132, 352, and 351(2) read with 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023. PSI Snehal S. Malik is investigating the case.
