USGAO: A motorcyclist sustained grievous injuries after a tourist bus allegedly driven in a rash and negligent manner dashed against his vehicle at Usgao in Ponda on Thursday evening.
According to police, the incident occurred prior to 7:55 pm on the bypass road at Tisk, Usgao. Based on the complaint filed by LHC 6852 Nidhi Nanshekar of Ponda Police Station, the accused has been identified as P. Aravind Pushparaj, a resident of Bangalore, Karnataka, who was driving an Eicher tourist bus from Ponda towards Dharbandora.
Police said the driver allegedly crossed the white central divider line and moved into the right-side lane, colliding head-on with an oncoming Splendor motorcycle. The rider, Prasad Kalekar of Sacordem, Dharbandora, fell onto the road and sustained grievous injuries in the crash.
He was subsequently shifted for medical treatment.
Further investigation is being carried out by LHC 6852 Nidhi Nanshekar of Ponda Police Station.
