Canacona: A 34-year-old man from Karnataka, who was on vacation in Goa, died after suffering a heart attack while waiting for a bus to return home.
According to police, a phone call was received from the casualty department of South Goa District Hospital (SGDH), Margao, at around 9:35 pm on Monday, informing that Anup Tupsundar (34), a resident of near Ganesh Temple, Dharwad, Karnataka, had passed away while undergoing treatment.
Police investigations revealed that the deceased had arrived in Palolem on October 24, 2025, along with his cousin Nitesh Tupsundar and friend Akshay Sagar for a vacation. On October 27, while the trio was waiting for a bus at Char Rasta, Canacona, to return home, Anup suddenly felt dizzy, vomited, and collapsed. He was immediately shifted to CHC Canacona by a 108 ambulance, and later referred to SGDH Margao, where he was declared dead during treatment.
An inquest and panchanama were conducted over the body, and a post-mortem examination was carried out by the police surgeon, who certified the cause of death as “myocardial infarction consequent to occlusive coronary artery disease.”
The body was later handed over to the family for final rites. Further inquiry is being conducted by PSI Babu Dessai of Canacona Police Station.
