CALANGUTE: A 52-year-old man from Mumbai was found dead under mysterious circumstances while vacationing in Goa. Prashant Bansode, a resident of Chembur, Mumbai, was brought to the PHC Candolim on July 6, 2025, at around 7:42 AM, where he was declared dead by the on-duty medical officer.
According to the police, Prashant had come to Goa with friends for a holiday when he suddenly started feeling unwell. His condition worsened quickly, and he lost consciousness. His friends immediately contacted emergency services and rushed him to the PHC Candolim in an ambulance.
Upon receiving a medical memo from the on-duty medical officer, the Calangute Police Station registered a U.D. (Unnatural Death) case under Section 194 of the BNSS. Preliminary investigations have revealed no signs of foul play, and the cause of death remains unclear.
The police have confirmed that Prashant’s friends have cooperated with the investigation. PSI Saieel Vaigankar of the Calangute Police Station is leading the ongoing inquiry to determine the exact cause of death.
At this stage, authorities have stated that the case does not seem suspicious, and further investigations are in progress. The family of the deceased has been informed, and the police are awaiting further updates from medical professionals to ascertain the cause of death.
