COLVA: A 54-year-old tourist from Tamil Nadu passed away at Colva late Thursday night after reportedly suffering chest pain while on vacation in Goa.
According to Colva Police, a phone call was received from the casualty section of the District Hospital, Margao, at around 1:45 a.m. on October 24, 2025, informing that A. Sakthivel, aged 54 years and a resident of Tamil Nadu, was brought dead to the hospital by a 108 ambulance from Star Beach Resort, Colva.
Police enquiries revealed that the deceased had arrived in Goa on October 23 along with his friends for a holiday. While sitting at a club in Colva, Sakthivel suddenly complained of chest pain and lost consciousness. He was immediately shifted to the District Hospital, Margao, where doctors declared him brought dead.
Further enquiry with family members revealed that Sakthivel had been suffering from multiple health ailments over the past five years and had suffered a heart stroke in December 2020.
Colva Police have registered an Unnatural Death (UD) case under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023, vide U.D. No. 42/2025. The body has been preserved at South Goa District Hospital for medico-legal formalities.
Further investigation is being conducted by LPSI Varshda Naik Dessai of Colva Police Station.
