PANAJI: Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte today said that tourists coming to Goa should be responsible and act responsibly.
“If someone is coming as a tourist, he is welcome to come to Goa and do things here nicely and safely and enjoy the place. The tourists should be responsible and act responsible,” said Khaunte.
He further said that it is up to every individual who needs to ensure that they take responsibility of their own self.
“As a govt and as a tourism sector state, we are here to provide all best infra and possibly the avenues of enjoying and having some nostalgic moment as far of Goa is confirmed,” he added.
The minister said that Tourism is the backbone of Goa’s economy, it is essential for the government to act responsibly, and that media also pass on the information.
“So I do not think that tourism should come into every aspect of thoughts which normally are already being acted upon by the Chief Minister’s office,” he added.
Speaking on the Sonali Phogat murder case, Khaunte said that Chief Minister would talk on the matter, and it is not right on my path being a minister to speak on the matter.
“The CM has already had a discussion and spoken to the media, so he must be having a thought of what needs to be done,” the minister said.
