CALANGUTE: Calangute Police have registered a theft case after a tourist from Bengaluru reported that her wallet was stolen at a restaurant in Baga on Wednesday evening.
According to police, Calangute PS Crime No. 55/2026 has been registered under Section 303(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, based on a complaint filed by Mrs. Shubham Duggal, resident of Srinivasa Classic Apartments, Sarjapura Main Road, Bengaluru, Karnataka.
The complainant stated that on April 9 at around 5:55 pm, while she was at Brittos Restaurant, Sautawado, Baga-Calangute, an unknown accused person allegedly stole her wallet. The stolen wallet contained cash of ₹15,000, a PAN card, and an Axis Bank ATM card, collectively valued at ₹15,000.
Head Constable Sudatta Khadpe (HC 5812) of Calangute Police Station is conducting further investigation.
