Panaji: The Public Works Department (PWD), Goa, has issued a notification regarding a temporary traffic diversion on National Highway 66 to facilitate the ongoing construction of a temporary and permanent toll plaza near Km. 476.500 under the Annual Plan 2024-25.
According to the notification signed by Executive Engineer Jude A. D. Carvalho of Works Division-VII (NH), PWD Panaji, traffic will be diverted onto extended lanes for a short stretch of 400 meters between Patradevi and the Zuari Bridge from July 21 to August 15, 2025.
The diversion has been necessitated to ensure hindrance-free and speedy completion of the toll plaza construction work. Prominent signboards indicating the diversion route are expected to be placed by the contracting agency, along with necessary road safety measures as per IRC and MoRTH guidelines.
Motorists are advised to follow the updated traffic signs and cooperate with authorities during the execution period.
