PANAJI: The office of the District Magistrate, North Goa, has announced traffic arrangements and road closures for a trial run scheduled on October 13, 2025, between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. The left side of the main carriageway of NH-66 from P55 (O’Coqueiro Junction) to P67 (Shivaji Chowk) and the right side from P16 (Damian-de-Goa) to P8 (Arabi Junction, Socorro) will be closed to all vehicular traffic, except for emergency services such as ambulances and fire brigades.
During this period, heavy vehicles, including luxury buses, proceeding to Panaji will be diverted via Karaswada – Bicholim, while heavy vehicles from Panaji to Mapusa will follow the route Panaji – Old Goa – Sakhalim – Bicholim – Assonora – Thivim. Light vehicles heading to Panaji will be diverted from Aradi Junction, Socorro, via Defence Colony and Kadamba Depot, and proceed to the service lane via Shivaji Chowk.
Additionally, the stretch from Socorro-Sangolda Junction to Socorro Church Junction will be one-way, and traffic towards Mapusa will be diverted from O’Coqueiro Junction via CHOGM Road, Sangolda, and Guirim.
Authorities assured that safe access for local residents and establishments along the closed stretch will be provided at designated points, and Traffic Marshals will be deployed continuously by the contracting agency under the direction of the traffic police throughout the closure.
