The Vasco traffic cell has on Monday, issued an advisory ahead of the Shigmotsav festival to be held on Wednesday in Vasco.
Vasco traffic PI Shailesh Narvekar, speaking to reporters, has urged the public to cooperate with the traffic police.
“There will be no movement of heavy vehicles including trucks tankers and trailers in Vasco city on Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. till the function ends. Swatantra Path road will remain closed for all vehicular traffic from the Bank of Baroda to the Mascarenhas building opposite the St Andrews Church Vasco on Wednesday,” he said.
The public is requested not to park their vehicles from Church Junction to Leena Hotel, on both sides of the road and similarly on the full stretch of Swatantra Path road. All the vehicle parking will be done on the internal road and at the Tanya Hotel open ground between 3:00 p.m. and the function on Wednesday.
All the vehicles which are found parked and causing blockage will be towed away. There will be traffic diversion at the Bank of Baroda junction on Swatantra path and also at St Andrew’s Church junction. However, the FL Gomes road is open for all vehicle traffic except for heavy vehicles. We request the public to cooperate with the traffic police,” said Narvekar.
