CANACONA – Training was imparted, and saplings were handed over to the traditional farmers of Canacona.
A training programme was held for field functionaries under Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojana at Sanskruti Bhavan, Amone, Poinguinim, organised by Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA, South Goa) in association with Zonal Agriculture Office, Canacona.
Expert advice was delivered to the traditional farmers, providing need-based guidance in tackling some of the critical field practices in the agriculture sector.
The program was also addressed by ATMA Project Director Shivram Naik Gaonkar, Cancona Zonal Agriculture Officer Kirtiraj Naik Gaonkar, S.B.R.HS. Headmistress Savita Tawadkar, Teacher Ashok Velip, Environmentalist Subhash Mahale, and Biodiversity board member Shirish Pai.
Canacona Agriculture office staff and several Villagers were also present for the function.
Meanwhile, a one-day training programme was held under the Western Ghats in coordination with the Agriculture Department, Canacona, in the presence of GLA Speaker and Canacona MLA Ramesh Tawadkar at Chapoli.
Canacona ZAO Kirtiraj Naik Gainkar and AAO Sachin Gaonkar, and State Bank of India Manager and bank staff, besides Chapoli villagers, were present.
