PANAJI: Complainant Trajano D’Mello claimed that his perseverance and conviction led to a successful resolution in the Serula land grab case. He said that although it took eight long years, justice had been served when the court ordered the filing of a formal complaint against the former minister of tourism and others.
D’Mello insisted on a police probe and a judicial investigation into the Serula land grab case as a whole.
“Police file a case against regular men right away. But they are reluctant to file complaints against politicians and other influential people. Thanks to my perseverance, we have finally received justice after eight years, eight months, and six days,” D’Mello told the media in Mapusa.
According to him, the verdict demonstrates that no one will be spared by the powerful legal system.
He added that Parulekar had been ordered by the High Court to return any property that had been obtained unlawfully to the comunidade. He said that the stores built by the former minister of tourism stood tall in the same location.
D’Mello declared, “We will file a contempt petition in the High Court.”
