Panaji: The Goa Directorate of Transport has issued an office order directing all Assistant Directors of Transport and Registering Authorities across the State not to accept Aadhaar cards and Leave & Licence agreements as proof of address for the purpose of registration of transport vehicles.
The order, issued by the Director of Transport, states that the directive will be applicable with immediate effect and must be strictly followed by all registering authorities in North and South Goa, including Panaji, Mapusa, Bicholim, Pernem, Margao, Ponda, Vasco, Quepem, Canacona and Dharbandora.
As per the order, Assistant Directors of Transport and Registering Authorities have been instructed to ensure compliance while processing vehicle registration applications, thereby disallowing the use of Aadhaar cards and Leave & Licence agreements as valid address proof documents.
