PANAJI: The Panaji Police have registered an offence against Dattaprasad Ganesh Naik, a resident of Madkai, Ponda, for allegedly securing government employment using a forged experience certificate.
According to the complaint lodged by Nancy Fernandes, Deputy Director of Transport, Panaji, the accused had submitted a fabricated work experience certificate purportedly issued by “Khapro Garage, Wadi Wada, Merces, Tiswadi” dated December 16, 2010.
The document falsely claimed that Naik had the required one-year experience in a reputed automobile workshop — a mandatory qualification for the post of Assistant Motor Vehicle Inspector (AMVI).
Police said that Naik allegedly produced the forged certificate as genuine before the Directorate of Transport, Panaji, during recruitment conducted in response to an advertisement dated December 2, 2010, thereby cheating the Government of Goa and dishonestly obtaining public employment.
The case was registered on November 3, 2025, at 17:24 hours under relevant sections of law based on the complaint from the Directorate of Transport.
The investigation is being carried out by LPSI Rashmika J. Kavlekar of Panaji Police Station.
