MORMUGAO: The Mormugao Police have registered an offence against multiple individuals for allegedly trespassing into government property and obstructing officials from carrying out their lawful duties at Electricity Quarters, Bogda. The complaint was lodged by Kashinath Jairam Shetye, Executive Engineer-XV, Civil Nodal Officer, Land Acquisition Cell, Patto, Panaji.
According to the complaint, the incident occurred on February 28, 2025, at 8:30 AM, when accused individuals—Omkar Durbhatkar, Yash Phadte, Sudhir Tari, Yogesh Patil, and others—allegedly criminally trespassed into the property under the possession of the Electricity Department at the Electricity Quarters at Bogda . The complainant and his team were engaged in construction work to close one of the four pathways within the property when the accused persons allegedly obstructed them from performing their official duties. The accused reportedly prevented the construction of a compound wall, resulting in an estimated financial loss of ₹1,50,000.
Furthermore, the complaint states that the accused incited the general public, allegedly provoking them with the intent to cause a riot.
Following the complaint, Mormugao Police registered an offence under Sections 329, 221, 126, 192, and 324(5) read with 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The case is currently under investigation, led by PSI Saidatta Naik of Mormugao Police Station, under the supervision of PI Dheeraj Devidas and the guidance of Mormugao DySP Gurudas Kadam.
