PANAJI: Three persons have been arrested by Collem police for murdering 38-year-old Jharkhand native at Collem under the influence of alcohol.
Naked body of Philip Kispotta a labourer residing at Collem was found near the railway track at Collem on Oct 27.
The accused are identified as 40-year-old Ramesh Doddamani from Hukkeri, Karnataka, 22-year-old Shivam Ram Bahadur from Raibarely and 56-year-old Chandrakant Bhagyavant from Satara, Maharashtra.
Police had initially ruled out foul play but later registered the case as that or murder.
The nude body of a worker from Jharkhand was found behind the railway station at Collem.
According to sources, the labourer Philip, originally from Jharkhand, was working near the railway station.
Since the body was found without clothes, the police suspected foul play and a police dog squad and finger experts were pressed into service.
Collem police did the panchanama and sent the body to Goa Medical College and Hospital for autopsy to determine the cause of death.
