Pernem: Pernem Police have registered a case against three individuals for allegedly assaulting a truck driver in a road rage incident on NH-66 near Malpem.
The complaint, filed by Anil Rathod (34), a driver residing at Casarvarnem and originally from Vijayapura, Karnataka, states that the incident occurred on July 23 at around 11:00 AM. Rathod was transporting a load of laterite stones in his truck (GA-11-T-6734) from Malpem towards Dhargal when he was stopped by the accused over a minor overtaking issue.
The accused have been identified as Utkarsh Uttam Teli, a resident of Anale, Naibag, Pernem; Dashrath Satardekar, and Sagar Magdum, both residents of Porascadem, Pernem.
As per the complaint, the trio restrained Rathod, assaulted him with slaps and punches, hurled filthy abuses at him, and threatened him with dire consequences.
The offence was officially registered at 8:42 PM on July 28, and further investigation into the case is underway.
