Porvorim: Porvorim police detained a truck and its driver for allegedly dumping garbage illegally near Galaxy Apartments, close to Khapreshwar Temple.
Police said they received a tip-off from a vigilant citizen about a truck (registration GA 05 T 9954) disposing of waste in the area.
Acting promptly, officers intercepted the vehicle and brought it to the police station along with its driver, identified as Manjunath, 28, a resident of Vaddem, Succoro. The driver has been booked under Section 34 of the Indian Penal Code, and the truck has been seized as part of the investigation.
Authorities have reiterated their commitment to taking strict action against individuals and entities polluting public spaces.
