MOLLEM: A serious road accident occurred at Anmod Ghat, Mollem, when a truck driven rashly rammed into a Maruti Omni van and later plunged into a valley.
As per the complaint filed by Jairaj Sitaram Parwar, a resident of Gaunem, Ponda, the incident took place prior to 8:30 pm when the truck, driven by Anand Rathod, a resident of Gadag, Karnataka, was proceeding from Anmod Ghat towards Mollem. Near a recently landslide-affected area, the truck hit the Maruti Omni from the rear, causing serious impact.
The complainant Jairaj Parwar, along with Priti Parwar and their minor son Noorash Parwar, all residents of Khadaki, Valpoi, sustained injuries in the collision. Following the impact, the truck veered off the road and fell into a valley, injuring the driver Anand Rathod as well.
Further investigation is underway under the supervision of Head Constable Deepak Gawas (B.No. 4493) of Collem Police Station.
