Panjim:- AICC incharge for Goa Dinesh Gundu Rao has asked Goa Pradesh Congress Committee to work for the Covid affected people and try to save as many lives as possible. Even if you succeed in saving one life it is an incredible job. He was addressing Congress members via video conferencing to review Covid Control Room activity of Goa Pradesh Congress Committee.
We need to keep politics aside as advised by our leader Rahul Gandhi ji and all of us need to focus on fighting Covid Dinesh Rao said.
He also advised the Congress team to work out other alternatives to reach out to the people in distress and give them helping hand. He expressed satisfaction over the working of Covid Control team and complimented GPCC team.
CLP leader Digambar Kamat while participating in the meeting informed the team that he already had two rounds of meetings with Collector wherein he has asked to start Mobile Testing facility. He also informed the participants that demand is put for increasing bed capacity of South Goa District Hospital and at GMC.
GPCC president Girish Chodankar expressed concerns over non availability of beds for the patients as Goa is working at 25% above its capacity in Covid as well as Private Hospitals. He stated that in many Government hospitals Covid19 patients are made to sleep on floors, Chairs and stretchers.
Chairperson of GPCC Covid Control room Dr. Pramod Salgaonkar informed the participants on the functioning of the Covid Control Room setup by the Congress Party. She said the members could reach out to many people and help patients and their families. She said “we are getting good support and appreciation from civil society”. Youth Congress president Varad Mardolkar briefed about Control Room setup by them and assured to work in proper sync with the Congress Covid Cell. He said Youth Congress members are working on ground by visiting hospitals & houses and extending help to needy.
Congress Seva Dal Chairman Shankar Kirlapalkar informed the members on their efforts of providing food packets to those who are in home quarantine or in isolation. Mahila Congress Chief Beena Naik participating in the meeting informed her teams efforts in giving assistance to needy; especially women.
GPCC Vice Presidents M. K. Sheikh & Vithoba Dessai, Everson Vales and others participated in the meeting.
