PANAJI: In a move aimed at strengthening healthcare services in North Goa, the State government has declared the newly established hospital facility at Tuem as a linked facility to Goa Medical College (GMC), Bambolim.
According to a notification issued by the Public Health Department on January 21, 2026, the decision has been taken to enhance medical facilities and improve access to quality healthcare for residents of the northern region of the State.
Following the linkage, doctors from Goa Medical College and services of the Directorate of Health Services will be provided at the Tuem hospital for delivering healthcare services.
The government stated that separate orders will be issued regarding the deployment of doctors to attend to patients at the facility.
The notification further directs the Dean of Goa Medical College and the Director of Health Services to take necessary steps for effective implementation of the decision and to ensure smooth coordination between the institutions.
The order has been issued as per the decision conveyed by the government through a note dated January 9, 2026, and is expected to significantly boost healthcare infrastructure and services in the region.
