PONDA: Police have registered a case against 12 persons for allegedly forming an unlawful assembly and assaulting a woman and her brother at Dharbandora on the night of September 5.
In her complaint, Sonali Pednekar, a resident of Dharbandora, stated that at around 10.45 pm, the accused persons—identified as Harish Mudliyar, Gauresh Mudliyar, Govinda Bagalkot, Sandesh Chalwadi (all from Dharbandora), Prajyot Naik, Vishnu Gawander, Sunil Sonawane, Steven, Rajesh Gondawar (all from Usgao, Ponda), Vijay Rajput (from Honda, Goa) and two other unidentified persons—abused her and her brother Suraj Pednekar in filthy language.
The complainant alleged that the accused Harish Mudliyar, Gauresh Mudliyar, Sandesh Chalwadi and Prajyot Naik assaulted them with wooden sticks, a danda and stones, while Harish Mudliyar also pelted stones at her brother, causing both siblings to sustain injuries.
The accused also allegedly threatened them with dire consequences.
