CURTORIM: Police have registered a case of cheating after a Nuvem resident was allegedly duped of his vehicle and belongings worth around ₹10 lakh.
In his complaint, Alekhkumar Singh, originally from Uttar Pradesh and residing at Nuvem, stated that Satish Singh and another unidentified man, both employees of VRL Logistics, Verna, impersonated staff of the same company and induced him to hand over his Hyundai Exter (Black Pearl) vehicle loaded with his personal belongings for transportation to Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.
However, the vehicle and goods were never delivered, and the complainant realised he had been cheated. The case, registered under cheating provisions, involves a reported loss of about ₹10 lakh.
