Panaji: Panaji police have arrested two persons for allegedly assaulting a tourist couple from Telangana during a dispute over a rented scooter.
According to police, the incident occurred when complainant Syed Mujahed and his wife attempted to return the scooter hired from accused Amit alias Atmaram Walke. Walke, along with his wife Ashi Walke and associate Kishan Hosmani, allegedly demanded an additional ₹200.
When the couple refused, the accused reportedly abused and threatened them. Police said Amit Walke then struck the complainant on the head with a golden kada (bracelet), while all three verbally abused the couple.
Amit Walke and Kishan Hosmani have been arrested, while the woman accused has been served notice under the Bhartiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita.
The case is registered under relevant sections of the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023.
