VALPOI: Valpoi police registered an offence on January 28, 2026, at 4.22 pm on a state complaint filed by Vinod Tanodi (32), attached to Valpoi police station, in connection with alleged cruelty to animals.
As per police, on January 28, 2026, at around 12 noon, at BCP Paryem, Keri, Sattari, the accused Arif Imamhusen Naik (27), resident of Bassapur, Belgaum, Karnataka, and Maktumhussain Abdul Konnur (31), resident of Hosur, Hebbal, Belgaum, Karnataka, were found transporting two buffaloes in a Tempo Trax pickup bearing registration number KA-22-D-5539.
The animals were allegedly confined inside the carrier box of the vehicle in unhygienic conditions and were being transported without any valid documents from the competent authority, thereby subjecting them to cruelty.
Both accused were arrested at 4.49 pm on the same day and were later released on personal bond at 5.10 pm.
