MORJIM: Mandrem Police have registered a case against two persons for organising a bull fight for betting purposes and subjecting animals to cruelty at Kattewada, Morjim, Pernem. The case was registered on January 11, 2026, at 12.30 pm on the complaint of PSI Archana Sharma of Mandrem Police Station, who stated that the incident took place earlier the same day at around 7.00 am. The accused allegedly organised the bull fight for personal monetary gain by inciting the bulls to fight each other, thereby subjecting them to cruelty. The accused have been identified as Ratan Darjee (41), a native of West Bengal, and Karan Bhuinya (29), also from West Bengal, both presently residing at Mardiwada, Morjim. They were arrested at 12.53 pm and later released on bail on bond. Further investigation in the case is being carried out by PSI Archana Sharma of Mandrem Police Station.
