PERNEM/PONDA: Continuing their drive against narcotics, police in North and South Goa seized drugs worth nearly ₹90,000 in two separate raids and arrested two accused.
In the first case, Pernem Police registered Crime No. 61/2025 after raiding Pethechawada, Corgao, between 9.25 pm and 11.00 pm on Saturday. The accused, Deepak Kumar (38), a native of Delhi currently residing at Arambol, was found in illegal possession of 654 grams of ganja worth around ₹65,000 and 13 grams of charas worth ₹15,000, concealed in the dickey of a yellow Honda Activa scooter (GA-11-F-4299).
In another raid, conducted by Mardol Police between 1.30 am and 4.45 am at Kundai IDC, Ponda, the accused Davalamalik Pumgiwale, a resident of Bhoma and native of Bijapur, Karnataka, was caught with 83 grams of ganja worth ₹8,300. The contraband was seized under a search and seizure panchanama, and the accused placed under arrest.
Both cases have been registered under relevant sections of the NDPS Act, and further investigation is underway.
