COLVA: Acting on reliable and specific information, Colva Police conducted a narcotics raid at Varca on January 26 and arrested two local residents for illegal possession of psychotropic substances.
According to a complaint lodged by PSI Nikhil Khajnekar of Colva Police Station, the raid was carried out between 5.50 a.m. and 9.30 a.m., during which the police caught Akash Sajith and Pratik Barman, both residents of Varca, red-handed with MDMA and charas.
Police seized a total of 8.81 grams of MDMA valued at approximately ₹1,76,200 and 2.43 grams of charas worth about ₹24,300.
The total value of the seized contraband is estimated at ₹2,00,500. The seizure was carried out under a search-cum-seizure panchanama.
Both accused have been arrested in connection with the case. Further investigation is being conducted by PSI Prathamesh Mahale of Colva Police Station.
