Calangute: Calangute Police have registered a case against two individuals for allegedly assaulting a man over a business-related issue near Baga, Bardez.
The incident occurred around 7:30 PM on July 17, 2025, and the FIR was registered in the early hours of July 18 at 4:36 AM under Calangute P.S. Crime No. 113/2025, invoking Sections 117(2), 352 read with 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023.
According to the complaint filed by Ashok Chippa, a 33-year-old resident of Borim, Ponda, he was first abused with filthy language by one Punaram Prajapat, resident of Naikawaddo, Verla. Subsequently, Punaram along with Rahul Prajapat, both sharing the same address, allegedly assaulted the complainant with slaps and punches, causing him grievous facial injuries.
The assault is reported to have stemmed from a business dispute between the parties.
Police have issued notices under Section 35 of the BNSS to the accused persons. Further investigation is underway.
