MAPUSA: Saligao police have registered an offence against two persons for allegedly assaulting a man with an iron rod and issuing threats following a property dispute at D’mello Waddo in Saligao.
According to police, the complaint was filed by Josephine D’Silva, a resident of Saligao, stating that the incident occurred on April 7 at around 2.30 pm at Survey No. 44/15. She alleged that the accused, identified as Sabaji Ashvekar and Bhaju Ashvekar, both residents of the same locality, confronted her son Johnson D’Silva over a property-related issue.
During the altercation, the accused allegedly assaulted Johnson with fist blows and an iron rod, causing injuries. They also reportedly threatened him with dire consequences.
Saligao police registered a case under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Further investigation is being carried out by PSI Akshay Gaonkar.
