PANAJI: Old Goa Police have registered a case of forgery and cheating against two residents of Milroc Temple Tower, Merces, following a complaint of fraudulent issuance of a housing society share certificate.
According to the complaint filed by Rajendra Kamat, the accused — identified as Jagdish Dessai and Sanjay Ghatwal — allegedly misrepresented themselves as chairman and secretary of the Milroc Temple Tower Co-operative Housing Society. They are accused of preparing a forged share certificate and issuing it to late Nirmala Dessai, which was identical to the original document, with the intention of cheating the society.
The case has been registered under Sections 336(1), 336(2), and 336(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
The incident, which reportedly occurred prior to April 19, 2025, came to light after scrutiny of the society’s records. Police said further investigation is underway under PSI Edwin Dias of Old Goa Police Station.
