QUEPEM: Cuncolim Police have registered a case against two persons for allegedly illegally extracting laterite stones and rubber stones at Naquerim in Quepem without obtaining permission from the competent authority.
According to police, the complaint was filed by Nathen Afonso, Mamlatdar of Quepem taluka, stating that prior to March 17, 2026, the accused Govind Sawant Dessai and Kishna Sawant Dessai, both residents of Naquerim, Quepem, carried out illegal extraction of laterite stones and rubber stones.
Police said the accused allegedly transported the extracted material to an unknown destination without any licence or permit, resulting in theft of state government resources for personal gain.
A case has been registered and further investigation is being conducted by PSI Sahil Pagui of Cuncolim Police Station.
