COLVA: In the aftermath of the Arpora fire incident, the South Goa district administration has shut down two spa establishments in Colva. The move follows an order issued on Wednesday by South Goa Collector and District Magistrate Egna Cleetus, based on a report from the Superintendent of Police, South Goa.
The Collector instructed the Salcete Mamlatdar to immediately seal the two outlets — Royal Spa and Happiness Will Grow Unisex Salon and Spa — both operating in Colva village.
Acting on these directions, the Mamlatdar’s team sealed Happiness Will Grow Unisex Salon and Spa on Tuesday, followed by Royal Spa on Wednesday.
According to the report submitted by the SP, illegal activities were allegedly taking place on the premises. Subsequent checks revealed that Royal Spa was functioning in violation of Sections 29(A), 29(B) and 29(C-1) of the Goa Public Health Act, while Happiness Will Grow Unisex Salon and Spa was found violating Section 29(A) of the Act.
