CANACONA: The two-days ‘SANGAM 2024’, at DPMs Shree Mallikarjun & Chetan Manju Dessai College, concluded amidst showcase of unity, diversity, and exceptional talent while S.S Angle Higher Secondary, Mashem, is declared as the overall winners of competitions in the SANGAM 2024.
The event hosted by Dnyan Prabodhini Mandal (DPM), witnessed an overwhelming participation of five higher secondary schools, bringing together students, parents, alumni, and the local community in a celebration of culture and achievement.
The festivities on Day One kicked off with flag off for run race at the hands of Chairman of the college Chetan Manju Desai as part of the Canacona Taluka Inter Higher Secondary School Competition, setting the tone for a day filled with sportsmanship and friendship. The ‘COLLEGE BAZAAR’ was inaugurated by Pankaj Naik Gaunkar, college alumnus, businessman and social worker, providing an overall shopping experience for the attendees.
The day continued with spirited competitions, including presentation of Patriotic Songs, Street Play, Indian Folk Dance, Badminton, and Table Tennis. The atmosphere was charged as students from various higher secondaries showcased their talents, competing for top honors.
Reel Making Competition: 1st – Balaram Higher Secondary, 2nd – S.S. Angle, 3rd – Mallikarjun Higher Secondary.
Patriotic Singing Competition: 1st – S.S Angle, 2nd – Mallikarjun High Sec., 3rd – Govt. High Sec.
Street Play Competition: 1st – S.S Angle, 2nd – Balaram, 3rd – Mallikarjun High Sec.
Indian Folk Dance Competition: 1st – S.S Angle, 2nd – Mallikarjun, 3rd – Balaram High. Sec.

The second day commenced with the heartwarming ‘Palak Sanmaan Sohala,’ a felicitation of parents for their invaluable contributions to the academic journey of the students. Guest Speaker Ravindra Kelekar Dnyanmandir, Margao, Headmaster Anant Agni, inspired the audience with his insightful address.
The highlight of the day was the Prize Distribution and Cultural Event, graced by Minister for Social Welfare Subhash PhalDessai, Dempo Charities Trust’s Srinivassa Sinai Dempo Dempo College of Commerce and Economics, Cujira-Bambolim Principal Prof. (Dr) Manoj Kamat, as Chief Guest and Guest of Honor, respectively.
The event reflected the college’s commitment in providing a platform for students to showcase their talents, fostering a sense of pride and unity in the Canacona community. The day concluded with a lively Prize Distribution ceremony, recognizing and rewarding outstanding performances.-
