BOGMALO: In a tragic incident, a self-accident took place near Sathan Chicolna Bogmalo Road, resulting in the death of one and serious injuries to another.
The accident occurred when a motorcycle bearing registration number GA 06 AC 8280, a Hero Deluxe, lost control and veered off the road, plunging into a 3-meter deep low-lying area. The rider, identified as Rounak Kumar (26), and the pillion rider, Neeraj Kumar Shah (32), both residents of Verna and natives of Bihar, were injured in the mishap.
Both victims were rushed to SDH Chicalim, where the rider, Rounak Kumar, was declared brought dead. The pillion rider, Neeraj Kumar Shah, sustained serious injuries and was referred to GMC for further medical treatment.
The deceased’s body has been preserved at the SDH Margao Morgue for medico-legal formalities. Vasco Police have registered a case of unnatural death under Section 194 of the BNS Act. Further investigations are being conducted by PSI Plato Carvalho of Vasco Police Station under the supervision of PI Kapil Nayak and guidance of Mormugao DySP Gurudas Kadam
