COLLEM: Collem Police have registered an offence against two individuals after they were allegedly caught transporting 1,000 kilograms of beef without valid documentation.
The case was filed based on a written complaint by Dr. Krishna S. Gaonkar, Veterinary Officer at the Veterinary Dispensary, Mollem.
According to the complaint, the incident occurred on the intervening night of November 15, 2025, before 8:30 pm at the Mollem Border Check Post (BCP).
The accused, identified as Rizwan Noorhamed Maldar, a resident of Vidyanagar, Khanapur, Belgaum, Karnataka, and Shahid Gudusab Shindodi, a resident of Remnugalli, Nangad, Belgaum, Karnataka, were allegedly transporting the meat in a Mahindra Xylo vehicle for the purpose of sale.
Police stated that the beef was brought from Kittur, Karnataka, and was being transported without any valid permits or documents issued by competent authorities, in violation of the Goa Animal Preservation Act.
Further investigation is being carried out by PSI Vaibhav Jalmi of Collem Police Station.
