BICHOLIM: In a late-night narcotic raid, Bicholim Police arrested two youth for possession of suspected ganja near Moments Hall, under the bypass road in Bicholim.
Based on specific and reliable intelligence, the raid was carried out between 10:00 pm and 11:55 pm on June 22 by a team led by PSI Amarnath Palni.
During the operation, the police apprehended Rohit Parwar (24), a resident of Harijanwada, Usap, Nanoda, and Sandesh Kandolkar (24), a resident of Bamanwada, Nanoda Latambarcem.
The police recovered a total of 49 grams of green leafy substance, suspected to be ganja, from their possession. Rohit was found with 23 grams, while Sandesh was carrying 26 grams.
The drugs, valued at approximately ₹5,000, were allegedly intended for delivery to prospective customers.
A state complaint was registered by PSI Palni at 00:53 hrs on June 23, and an offence has been registered under the relevant provisions of the NDPS Act. Further investigation is currently underway.
