Ponda: Two persons sustained injuries after a car allegedly driven in a rash and negligent manner dashed against a scooter near the sports complex at Curti, Ponda, on Wednesday afternoon.
According to Ponda Police, the incident occurred at around 1.30 pm on December 31 on the service road near the sports complex at Curti. The state complaint was lodged by HC 5620 Vinod Naik of Ponda Police Station.
Police said the accused, identified as Mahesh Patil, a resident of Warkhandem, Ponda, originally from Belgaum, Karnataka, was driving a TATA Punch car from Maruti Temple towards Khandepar.
On reaching near the sports complex, the car allegedly hit a Suzuki Access scooter which was crossing the lane towards Haveli Curti.
As a result of the collision, the scooter rider, Sageda Khan, and pillion rider, Afrah Khan, both residents of Haveli Curti, Ponda, sustained injuries.
A case has been registered at Ponda Police Station, and further investigation is being carried out by HC 5620 Vinod Naik.
