Saligao: A hit-and-run case has been registered following a road accident near Florentine Restaurant at Saligao, in which two persons sustained grievous injuries.
According to police, the complaint was lodged on February 10 at 7.26 pm by Monu, son of Ram Kailash, presently residing at c/o Narendra, Wadakade, Porvorim, Bardez-Goa, and originally from Dughara, Sairai Mamarej, Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh.
As per the complaint, the incident occurred on February 7 at around 7.45 pm. An unknown driver of a dark blue car, allegedly driving in a rash and negligent manner towards Calangute, reportedly swerved into the complainant’s lane near Florentine Restaurant and dashed against his motorcycle — a Super Splendor bearing registration number GA-03/AS-9617 — which was proceeding from Baga to Porvorim.
Due to the impact, the complainant and his pillion rider fell onto the road and sustained grievous injuries to their legs.
Police said the accused driver fled the scene without informing the police or providing medical assistance to the injured persons.
Further investigation is being carried out by HC 4770 Sudesh Naik.
