BAMBOLIM: In a tragic road accident near Holy Cross, opposite Sainik Aramgarh at Bambolim, two young Navy officers lost their lives in the early hours of October 21, 2025.
According to Agacaim Police, the incident occurred around 4:47 a.m. when a Royal Enfield Himalayan motorcycle (registration no. KL-59-AA-7413) proceeding from Panaji towards Margao lost control and crashed into a divider and a roadside signboard. Both riders sustained severe injuries.
A 108 ambulance rushed the injured to Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMC), Bambolim, where medical officers declared them brought dead. They were later identified as Harigovind P. (21) and Vishnu Jayaprakash (21), both residents of Kerala and serving personnel at INS Hansa, Vasco.
Police inquiries revealed that Vishnu Jayaprakash was riding the motorcycle, which belonged to him. CCTV footage from Smart City cameras and local establishments confirmed that the duo lost control of the bike near the Siridao flyover before hitting the divider.
Agacaim Police have registered an Unnatural Death case in connection with the incident. Further investigation is being conducted by PSI Shubham Korgaonkar of Agacaim Police Station.
