PONDA: Two Goa Forward councillors of Ponda Muncipalty Venkatesh Naik and Chandrakala Naik declared their support to Congress Party Ponda Candidate Rajesh Verenkar in the presence of Goa Forward Leader Vijay Sardesai.
Venkatesh Naik (Dada), also former Chairperson of Ponda Municipal Council (PMC) and Councillor Chandrakala Naik, joined Goa Forward Party last year. Venkatesh was even declared a candidate of Goa Forward.
However, in changing the political equation after the formation of Congress and the Goa Forward alliance, both councillors supported the Congress candidate Rajesh Verenkar.
Goa Forward Leader said cancer of defection has been developed in Goan Politics by BJP. The last time they caused defection after the election, they caused defection into other parties before the assembly election.
If Goans want clean politics and remove the cancer of defection, they have a golden opportunity to elect the Congress Goa Forward alliance into power, defeating BJP.
