SANCOALE: Two Shiva Lingas were discovered in a Khazan water body at Sancoale on Wednesday morning, prompting immediate action by the Archeology Department.
According to sources, workers from a nearby service station had gone to the water body for defecation when they stumbled upon the two Lingas submerged in the water. The labourers reportedly removed and cleaned the stone idols before informing local residents.
Taken aback by the unexpected discovery, the locals alerted the Archeology Department, whose officials arrived at the site and took possession of the Shiva Lingas.
The department has now initiated an investigation to determine the age and historical significance of the artifacts.
