VALPOI: Valpoi Police today have seized two trucks carrying 53 live pigs.
As per information, both the trucks entered into Goa from Karnataka. Information states that pigs were allegedly illegally transported for sale in Goa.
A vicious circle has been secretly carrying the supply of pigs from outside the state. Based on a tip-off, the Valpoi police conducted naka checking and managed to seize two vehicles loaded with live pigs.
Valpoi police have registered an FIR against Jeevan Ballappa Shipri r/o Belgaum and Sagar Maruti Jadhav r/o Dharwad under animal cruelty act and illegally transporting 53 pigs from Karnataka to Goa.
Police have said that pigs will be taken for medical check. Further investigation is on.
