SALCETE: Police have registered two separate cases of two-wheeler theft in Salcete, with investigations underway to trace the stolen vehicles and nab the culprits.
In the first incident, a Royal Enfield Bullet motorcycle valued at ₹71,000 was reported stolen from the garage of a residence in Dagavali, Raia. Police said the theft is suspected to have occurred between 7.30 pm on 1 July 2025 and 6.30 pm on 25 June 2025, when the owner was away and the vehicle was parked securely in the garage. The complaint was filed by Rosario D’Souza, who discovered the bike missing upon returning home. According to police, unknown persons gained entry to the property and made off with the motorcycle without leaving immediate clues. Margao Town Police have registered the case and are conducting further investigation to trace the vehicle and identify those involved. ASI Suresh B Velip is the investigating officer.
In a separate case, police said a Honda Dio scooter worth ₹40,000 was stolen from a residence in Nuvem, Salcete. The theft reportedly took place around 3.00 am on 2 June 2025. The complaint was filed by Jose Rodrigues, a resident of Nuvem, who discovered his scooter missing and alerted the authorities. Margao Town Police have registered the case and further investigation is being led by ASI Jitendra Gaonkar.
Police have urged residents to remain alert and to report any suspicious activity, as efforts continue to recover the stolen two-wheelers and bring the culprits to book.
