MANGOR: Vasco police have registered a case against two women after their pet dog allegedly attacked a local resident in the Mangor Hill area. The incident took place on May 21 at around 1:30 pm.
The complaint, filed by Laxmi Pillai, a resident of Mangor Hill, alleges that the accused—identified as Gudiya Singh and Asmita Singh, both residents of Vasco—negligently allowed their pet dog to roam freely near their residence, posing a serious threat to public safety. According to the complaint, the unleashed dog attacked Pillai, leaving her with severe injuries on her body.
In addition to the alleged dog attack, the complainant also stated that the two women verbally abused her using obscene language and threatened her by saying they would bring more dogs to the area.
Based on the complaint, Vasco police have registered an offence under Sections 291 (negligent conduct with respect to animals) and 352 (assault or criminal force) read with Section 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023.
The investigation is currently being led by PSI Plato Carvalho under the supervision of PI Vaibhav Naik and overall guidance of Mormugao DySP Gurudas Kadam.
