PANAJI: Ugem Rising Club secured their place in the final of the 3rd Late Uday Shirodkar Memorial Inter-Village Football Tournament after a determined 2-1 comeback victory against Margao Sports Club in the second semifinal held at the Subhash Chandra Bose Sports Complex in Karai, Shiroda.
Margao SC took the initial lead, putting Ugem under early pressure. However, Ugem Rising Club responded with resilience, gradually taking control of the match and pushing forward with intent. Their sustained efforts paid off as they found the equaliser and continued to build momentum.
With the game finely balanced, Ugem delivered the decisive strike in the second half, completing their turnaround and securing a well-deserved win. Despite Margao SC’s attempts to force a comeback of their own, Ugem’s disciplined defence held firm until the final whistle.
The spirited display has now propelled Ugem Rising Club into the championship round, where they will compete for the tournament title.
