PONDA: Unhappy over ward delimitations and reservations some Ponda Councillors and former Councillors have approach the High Court challenging it.
While some councillors and aspiring candidates who could not contest their ward as it got reserved for ladies or OBCs not waiting for Court verdict are even ready preparing to field their Wives and daughters or family relatives incase go court decision goes against their petition.
Meanwhile voters at Ponda said According to voters not only wards but even votes in family i.e husband and wife in house are split with husband will vote in one ward while wife and childrens will vote from another ward.
Beside this it is also learnt that some wards are not reserved despite they were for general category for two times.
PMC Councillor Pradeep Naik beside aspirant candidates including two former councilor, and two Ponda Local had filed the petition in High Court.
Councillor Pradeep Naik said his ward no 8 is reserved third time, similarly ward 11 also reserved third time. He said Ward no 8 which he is representing was reserved for ladies in 2013, and in 2018 it was OBC, and now again, it is reserved for ladies reserve. It is getting third time reserved which actually should be reserved for the general category, but that has not happened..
This is challenged. Beside this second thing challenged is delimitation of wards. The votes from one ward are split and shifted to several wards making confusion among aspirant candidates and also voters.
