VASCO: A gruesome discovery was made near Tanya Hotel in Vasco, where an unidentified male body was found lying on the railway tracks at KM 107/700-800. The body was found in a mutilated state, with the head severed and lying between the tracks, while the rest of the body was found beside the railway line.
According to a memo received from the Deputy Station Superintendent, the information was first relayed by Loco Pilot Ram Vijay Kumar. Upon inquiry, authorities suspect that the deceased, believed to be a man aged between 30 to 35 years, may have died by suicide after coming in front of a running train.
Following police verification and legal formalities, the body has been preserved at SGDH Margao for identification and medico-legal procedures. Vasco Railway Police Station has registered a case of unnatural death under Section 194 BNS. Further investigation is being conducted by PI Amarnath Passi under the guidance of Mormugao DySP Gurudas Kadam.
Authorities have urged anyone with information regarding the deceased’s identity to come forward.
