COLVALE: Police have registered a case of unnatural death after an unidentified body was discovered in the compound of Ghotneshwar Temple, Colvale, late on Tuesday night.
According to police, on 23rd September 2025 at around 21:33 hrs, a phone call was received from the Casualty Police at North District Hospital, Mapusa, informing that an unknown male was brought in dead. The medical officer on duty confirmed him as “brought dead.”
Subsequent inquiry revealed that the deceased had been found lying within the temple premises at Colvale. The body has been preserved at the North District Hospital, Mapusa morgue for medico-legal formalities and post-mortem examination.
Police have registered Colvale PS U.D. No. 25/2025 under Section 194 BNSS, and inquest proceedings are awaited. Further investigation is being carried out by PSI Ramchandra Satelkar of Colvale Police Station.
