MORMUGAO: An unidentified male, aged around 35 years, was found dead at Baina on Tuesday afternoon. Police received information from the PCR Panaji at about 3.00 pm stating that an unknown person was lying dead and had been shifted to the Sub-District Hospital (SDH), Chicalim.
Upon reaching SDH Chicalim, the duty doctor confirmed that the individual had been brought dead. Preliminary enquiries with local residents revealed that the deceased was a disabled person who used to beg and had been sleeping on the roadside in the area for the past one year.
An inquest panchanama was conducted over the dead body, which has been preserved at the South Goa District Hospital (SGDH), Margao, for further medico-legal formalities.
Further enquiry is being carried out by PSI Saidatta Naik of Mormugao Police Station.
